FELLOWSHIP DAY, WESTERN AUSTRALIA (added 28/10/12)

Picture

Fellowship Day was celebrated in Western Australia with a joint gathering of Trefoil Guilds and Baden Powell Guild on Saturday 27 October 2012 in Carlisle, a suburb of Perth.

The theme was “The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee” with quizzes and information relating to her reign followed by a Friendship afternoon tea.

Some 85 members and friends were in attendance with Dr Brenda Hamlett, State Commissioner, Girl Guides Western Australia, as guest speaker.

Some Trefoil Guild members are "lones" - they 'meet' by correspondence as they live too far to travel to monthly meetings.

This was a special event so they made the special journey.

A display gave attendees the opportunity to share the Fellowship Day Message 2012, together with the information on ISGF, the Mission of ISGF and Fellowship messages Australia had received from other member countries.

There was also a table full of jams for the action "Bring and Buy". Many Guilds used this opportunity to earn and raise funds.

Guides and Ranger Guides of Carlisle with their leader came to assist with the Devonshire Afternoon Tea. It was a great “good turn” at the end of the afternoon to find all our dishes washed just waiting for the committee to put away or take home.

This action of celebrating Fellowship Day and sharing it with Girl Guiding Western Australia has certainly improved our visibility.
